We are seeking a self-motivated individual to work as primary legal assistant for firm Member and other assigned duties.
Applicants need:
- Two (2) years’ experience as a legal assistant but will train the right candidate. Background in Estate Planning and Business/Corporate Law is a plus
- Good interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with clients, attorneys, and other staff members
- High level of organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and have ability to multi-task
Duties to include:
- First level drafting of Estate Planning Documents, including Trusts, Wills, Powers of Attorney, Deeds, etc.
- First level drafting of company minutes and related business documents
- Answer and respond to telephone calls, email correspondence, and client communications in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain attorney calendars and schedule client meetings
- Maintain inventory of client’s confidential files
- Assist with document signings (notarization of documents, serving as witness, meeting with clients)
- Ability to create and edit Excel spreadsheets
- Scan and print documents
- Create and update electronic and physical files
- Qualify as a notary in Missouri
- Other duties as may be assigned
Program Software:
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Zoom
- Experience with Hot Docs, Microsoft Teams, and Clio legal technology software is a plus
